The Visconteo Bridge, a fortified dam built in 1393 at the behest of Gian Galeazzo Visconti and the Scaligero Castle that dominates the Mincio Valley from the top of its hill are the frame.
Together with the Scaligero Castle which still dominates the neighboring hill, it constituted a fortified complex unique in the world including a dam.
