Been born officially nell' August of 1973, Umbria Jazz is the most renowned and prestigious jazz show of Europe. A kermis than every year, to July, involves whole town of Perugia that becomes, for the occasion, a splendid location of shows and musical events that attract thousands of coming youngsters from every part of Italy and Europe. For ten days, between the splendid palaces and the evocative alleys of the historic city center, is all a to succeed itself of concerts held from the largest jazzists of the world. The festival becomes, therefore, the occasion to plunge itself literally in this fantastic musical world, leaving to be transported from the sweet melodies and from the warm atmospheres of the music jazz. From some decade, moreover, to the traditional jazz music of concerts they support themselves evocative black concerts of music ( blues, gospel and soul ), with some I recall also to the pop rock, to satisfy the variegated musical flavors of a public that, of year in year, shows, with its bulky presence, of to appreciate a show that alone Umbria Jazz knows to offer.
